When evaluating the many transportation-improvement options under consideration in the Eastern Corridor project, many key factors were looked at.
Basic issues of mobility played a large part. Travel and delay times, and average ridership on a daily basis were taken into account. This process includes factoring in the amount of goods and services transported to and from the region each day.
Environmental issues are of great importance. The project teams looked into the impact of increased traffic on air quality to help determine the transportation improvements to pursue. And when formulating plans for the Little Miami River Bridge crossing, methods for minimizing any disruptions to this scenic river were considered.
Finally, and perhaps most important of all, are the factors that make the plan for the Eastern Corridor a plan for everyone. Ensuring that the benefits of the Eastern Corridor project can be enjoyed by all, regardless of income, race, age and disability, remains of paramount importance.
