Areas within the Eastern Corridor are mapped as having high, moderate or low archaeological sensitivity, indicating their potential for containing archaeological resources.
Sensitivity rating is based on density of known archaeological sites, soil type, land use and degree of disturbance. "High" archaeological sensitive areas (shown in dark red on the map) are associated with the Little Miami River and East Fork valleys and portions of the Ohio River valley.
The National Register of Historic Places is a record of resources with significance in American history, architecture, archaeology, engineering and/or culture. Known archaeological sites listed on the National Register are not shown on this map because this information is restricted for their protection. Seven National Register archaeological sites occur in the project area.
