Back to Press Releases Kellie Grob Traffic a "Big Problem" in Eastern Corridor, According to Survey
Cincinnati, OH (04/30/2002) The Eastern Corridor concluded the first in a series of online public opinion surveys to improve public participation in eastern Hamilton and western Clermont counties. Nearly 100 percent of the participants agreed traffic was a problem at least some of the time, with more than half responding it was a “big problem.”
Participants were asked to rank the importance of several of the Eastern Corridor initiatives. Respondents found the following initiatives to be “very important”:
- Creating neighborhoods with a mix of business and residential properties
- Increasing public transportation options
- Preserving greenspace
- Increasing road/highway capacity
Other questions were asked in order to gauge the best ways to share information with the public. Among the favorites were newspaper articles and e-mail updates.
The next survey is now online and focuses on transportation usage issues. Future surveys will focus on neighborhood impact issues and Eastern Corridor project details. To participate in the current survey, visit the Eastern Corridor project Web site at www.easterncorridor.org, the survey will appear as a pop-up window, or you can select the link from the menu on the left.
