PROJECT STATUS
The Red Bank Corridor project team is currently working through the Tier 2 study process to develop a series of preliminary alternatives to be considered for the project.* Current efforts are focused on defining current and future needs as well as identifying the visions and goals of the region and local communities.

As part of the Tier 2 study effort, the Red Bank Corridor project team has thus far:

• Prepared a basemap of the project area
• Completed a Red Flag Summary Report.  This report identifies natural and man-made features within the study corridor (such as historic sites or buildings, natural resources, potential hazards, etc.) that need to be “flagged” as important and considered as project planning moves forward.
• Conducted traffic analyses.  Traffic count projections are currently being reviewed by ODOT and the other Eastern Corridor Program Implementation Partners and will be available for public review in spring 2012.
• Met several times with local community representatives and stakeholder groups to:

- Discuss the project and alternative development process
- Identify community needs, objectives and goals
- Begin the process of developing possible project alternatives

During upcoming months, the Red Bank project team will continue completing the necessary environmental and traffic studies and meeting with local community representatives and stakeholders.  Information gained will be used to develop preliminary project alternatives.  These will be shared with the community for review and comment and input received will be incorporated into the subsequent alternative refinement process.  The end goal of the Red Bank Corridor project is to gain consensus on a preferred project alternative.

* Development of the preliminary alternatives will be consistent with the stated objectives and purposes identified in the Tier 1 FEIS and the Federal Highway Administration’s 2006 Tier 1 Record of Decision.
